Alice Paul House

Spring 2003 Volunteer Training Information

Women's Studies minors, friends, and members of the IUP community - are you interested in getting involved in volunteer work that reaches out to aid local women in crisis?

The Alice Paul House is once again offering a training course in crisis intervention counseling.  Individuals who are interested in gaining the skills and experience necessary to help male and female victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other serious crimes are encouraged to sign up for a pre-training interview.  Students can become members of our volunteer corps by successfully completing our 85-hour volunteer/advocacy training program.  By serving as a volunteer, you will gain knowledge and valuable experience while helping others.  Internships are offered to students who have successfully completed volunteer training.

The 85-hour training program will begin on February 18, 2003, and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday evening and on four Saturdays through April 8, 2003.

Interested students may call 724 349 4444 for additional information.  Psychology and criminology majors are strongly encouraged to call.
