IUP Sports Medicine Department Faculty Athletic Trainers
Jessica S. Baum, MS, ATC, CSCS
Jessie is a native of Norwalk,
Ohio. She began her athletic training education at Baldwin-Wallace
College. Following her undergraduate career, Jessie received a graduate
assistantship at Ohio University and completed her master of science
degree in 1999.
Her athletic training career began
as the assistant athletic trainer at Fredonia State University.
Prior to coming to IUP in 2003, Jessie was the head athletic trainer for
the New York Power of the Women’s United Soccer Association, the Long
Island Rough Riders Men’s Professional Soccer team and served as an
assistant for the Long Island Ducks semipro baseball team.
Robert W. Baron, MS, ATC, PES
Rob is originally from Grand Isle,
Vermont. He completed his undergraduate athletic training education at
Johnson State College and came to IUP to complete his master of science
degree in exercise science. He had worked as the head athletic trainer
at Purchase Line High School for four years prior to accepting the
position at IUP in September 2004.
Frank A. Trenney, MS, ATC
Frank is a native of the Indiana,
Pa. area. He graduated from Derry High School and continued his
education at IUP, earning his bachelor of science degree in 1992. He
proceeded on to Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., as a graduate
assistant and received a master of science degree in kinesiology in
1993. Frank returned to Indiana, Pa., and worked through Keystone
Rehabilitation Systems and Indiana High School. He joined the IUP
sports medicine staff in 1994.
