Jahzinga Tracey Selected Recipient of PSAC West Co-Player of the Week Award

IUP junior guard Jahzinga Tracey has been named the co-recipient of the PSAC West Player of the Week award.  This marks the third time this season that Tracey has been honored by the PSAC.

Tracey averaged 15.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.7 steals per game in leading IUP to victories over Pitt Johnstown, Kutztown and East Stroudsburg.  She shot 51.4 percent from the floor (18 of 35), dished out six assists and blocked five shots.

The three wins last week improved the Crimson Hawks to 13-1 overall and 5-0 in PSAC crossover games.  IUP is ranked ninth in the nation in the most recent USA Today/ESPN Division II coaches poll.

The highlight of the week for the reigning PSAC West Player of the Year came on Sunday at East Stroudsburg when she posted the second triple double in school history.  In the 79-70 win, Tracey had 21 points, 15 rebounds and 10 steals, the latter figure tying the IUP record.

Earlier in the week, Tracey had 16 points, eight rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots in a 70-41 win at Pitt Johnstown.  In only 18 minutes of action in an 80-58 win at Kutztown, she had eight points, five rebounds and four steals.

On the season, Tracey ranks third in the PSAC scoring (18.6), rebounding (9.1) and field goal percentage (55.7), fourth in steals (3.57 per game) and tied for ninth in blocked shots (1.00 per game).  She is also second on the team with 39 assists.

In the latest NCAA national rankings, Tracey is 12th in steals, 30th, in scoring, 40th in field goal percentage and 45th in rebounding.

Tracey has moved up to 14th in career scoring at IUP with 1,126 points and needs only 59 more to crack the top 10.  She is also sixth in steals with 222 and eighth with 625 rebounds.

IUP returns to action with home games on Saturday against West Chester and Sunday against Millersville.  Both games start at 1 p.m.
