IUP Basketball Teams Participate in Grocers Fight Cancer Day at Giant Eagle

On Wednesday, October 3, members of the IUP men's and women's basketball teams and coaching staffs participated in the National Grocers Fight Cancer Day in conjunction with the Indiana Giant Eagle.

To help defray costs to Giant Eagle, the IUP players volunteered to bag groceries, sell raffle tickets, run a concession stand and collect cash donations from customers.  Giant Eagle donated a percentage of its sales from that day to the American Cancer Society.

The following day, The Center for Student Life at IUP sponsored Stepping Towards A Cure Walk at Miller Stadium, another function that supports the American Cancer Society.  Members of the women's basketball team assisted with the walk during the middle of the school day.
