IUP Breaks Into PSAC
West Win Column by Blanking Highly Ranked Edinboro

IUP swept Edinboro 3-0 to win its first PSAC West match of the season.
The Crimson Hawks downed the Fighting Scots by scores of 30-21, 30-26,
30-27.
Edinboro entered the match ranked
second in the latest NCAA Atlantic Region rankings and had won 24 of 30
matches entering Tuesday's contest at Memorial Field House. The
Fighting Scots are 5-3 in the division.
IUP improved to 14-19 overall and
1-7 in the PSAC West. The Crimson Hawks have won three of their
last four matches, two against regionally ranked teams including a
victory over West Chester on Friday.
Tessa Siewert
(pictured) and Maddie Schulte
both had 10 kills in the win over Edinboro, with Siewert adding five
blocks, two service aces and four digs. Schulte had three blocks
and five digs.
Hristina Denic added eight kills
and only one error, hitting .318 in the match. She also had eight
digs and a pair of blocks. Chelsey Kreinbrook handed out 32
assists, and Emily Pany had 17 digs. Tessa Irwin and Sandy Rambow
both finished with four blocks.
IUP takes its momentum into three
non-conference matches later this week. The Crimson Hawks visit
Seton Hill on Friday before hosting Barton on Saturday at 11 a.m. and
Davis & Elkins that evening at 7 p.m.
