IUP Gets in PSAC West Win Column by Downing Clarion

IUP won its first PSAC West volleyball match of the year, taking a 3-1 victory over Clarion on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Field House. 

IUP (3-4, 1-1 PSAC West) won by scores of 30-26, 30-28, 28-30, 30-26.  Clarion dropped to 8-3 and 0-2 in the division.

IUP had four players in double figures in kills, led by Jill Bixler with 16, followed by Michelle Jones with 15, Trisha Gerus with 13 and Laura Robinette with 10.  Gerus also had four blocks.

Alicia Koches had 48 assists and eight digs.  Krista Nordby led IUP in digs with 17 while Carri Cole added 13 and Bixler contributed 12.

IUP hosts California in another PSAC West match Tuesday at 7 p.m.
