IUP won its fifth straight match
Wednesday night with a 3-1 victory over Alderson-Broaddus in a
non-conference match at Memorial Field House.
IUP got double digit kill
performances from Trisha Gerus (18), Jill Bixler (15) and Michelle Jones
(14) in improving to 14-8 on the season. Alderson-Broaddus is
11-14.
Gerus
added seven blocks and four digs, Bixler had 15 digs and Jones
(pictured) had three blocks to lead IUP to the victory. Laura
Robinette contributed six kills, four blocks and four digs.
Alicia Koches had 40 assists and
eight digs and Emily McCombie handed out eight assists. Carri Cole
led the defense with 22 digs and Krista Nordby made 16.
IUP plays three PSAC crossover
matches Friday and Saturday at Kutztown. IUP takes on Millersville
on Friday at 5 p.m. and then faces the host Golden Bears on Saturday at
1 p.m. followed by a match against Cheyney.
