IUP Wins Two of First Three Games Before Clarion Rallies for PSAC West Win

IUP took a 2-1 lead before host Clarion rallied for a 3-2 win in a PSAC West match Tuesday night at Tippin Gym.

Clarion won by scores of 27-30, 30-26, 26-30, 30-18, 15-8 to improve to 19-9 overall and 2-5 in the PSAC West.  IUP is also 2-5 in the division and 15-12 overall.

Trisha Gerus led IUP in kills with 18, followed by Laura Robinette with 14, Jill Bixler with 12 and Michelle Jones with 10.  Gerus also had seven blocks and two service aces while Robinette had three blocks.

Carri Cole and Krista Nordby led the defense with 24 and 23 digs, respectively.  Also recording double figures in digs were Bixler with 16, Robinette with 11 and Alicia Koches with 10.  Koches also had 54 assists and three blocks.

IUP plays another PSAC West match at California on Friday at 7 p.m.
