IUP Sweeps New Haven,
Looks Ahead to Key Matches Against California and Edinboro

The IUP volleyball team won its final
non-conference match of the regular season, downing New Haven 3-0 in a
contest played at Morrow Field House in Slippery Rock.
IUP improved to 24-8 with its 30-27, 30-26, 30-22
victory. The Indians have two PSAC West matches remaining before the
conference tournament gets under way November 11.
Trisha Gerus led the Indians with 15 kills and two
blocks. Heather Bauer had 12 kills and three blocks while Brittany
Gates and Michelle Jones both had seven kills. Gates added a pair of
blocks.
Alicia Koches handed out 37 assists, and Krista
Nordby had three service aces. Jill Bixler led the defense with 17
digs, followed by Kelly Wolff with 14 and Carri Cole with 11.
IUP plays at California on Tuesday and hosts
Edinboro next Saturday to end the season. The Indians are 3-5 in the
PSAC West, one game behind Slippery Rock for the final berth out of the
division.
