IUP Rallies From
One-Game Deficit to Pull Away from Clarion

IUP dropped the the first game before storming back
to defeat Clarion by a score of 3-1 Tuesday night at Memorial Field
House.
The Indians improved to 13-3 overall and 2-1 in the
PSAC West with a 26-30, 30-19, 30-20, 30-24 win. Clarion fell to
10-5 and 0-3 in the division.
Brittany Gates led IUP with 18 kills, a .500
hitting percentage, six digs and five blocks. Trisha Gerus and
Michelle Jones both had 14 kills, with Gerus contributing five blocks
and Jones adding four digs.
Alicia Koches had 50 assists, 14 digs and a pair of
service aces. Krista Nordby led IUP with 23 digs while Jill Bixler
had nine to go along with eight kills.
Heather Bauer paced the Indians in blocks with
seven and made six kills. Carri Cole had eight digs and Jackie
Bishop added seven.
IUP plays three PSAC crossover matches this weekend
at Kutztown. The Indians take on Millersville Friday and then face
Cheyney and the host Golden Bears on Saturday.
