IUP Drops Narrow Decision at Edinboro in PSAC West Match

IUP rallied from a 2-1 deficit to force a fifth and deciding set before dropping a 3-2 decision at Edinboro Tuesday night in a PSAC West contest.

The Indians are now 19-6 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC West.  The Fighting Scots evened their overall mark at 12-12 and are 1-4 in the division.

Brittany Gates led IUP with 17 kills, four blocks and six digs while Trisha Gerus added 15 kills and a team-high seven blocks.  Jill Bixler had seven kills and Amanda Dawson contributed six.  Bixler also had 24 digs.

Alicia Koches had 52 assists, four service aces and 15 digs.  Krista Nordby led IUP in digs with 31 while serving a pair of aces.

Also reaching double figures in digs were Jackie Bishop with 16 and Carri Cole with 13.

IUP plays three PSAC crossover matches this weekend at Slippery Rock.  The Indians face Shippensburg on Friday (7:15) and West Chester (10:00 a.m.) and East Stroudsburg (4:00) on Saturday.
