IUP senior Jermaine
Clayton won three events to highlight the IUP track and field
performance at the Slippery Rock Invitational on Saturday.
Clayton took first place in the 55 meters (6.53),
long jump (226) and triple jump (463). He led a total of five IUP
athletes that won individual events.
Lahnor Ridley and Gretchen Colwell paced the IUP
women. Ridley won the triple jump (362 1/4) and was second in both the
long jump (171/2) and high jump (52). Colwell took first in the
weight throw (470) and was second in the shot put (401 1/2).
Other winners on the mens side were Sean Strauman
in the 800 meters (2:00.60) and Eric Kruttschnitt in the mile (4:26.01).
Justin Udo was second in the 55 meters (6.65).
Marissa Rolling was second in the 400 meters
(1:03.59) and Jess Moyer was second in the pole vault (103). The team
of Ridley, Rolling, Megan Horn and Jill Suda was second in the 4 x 400
meter relay (4:21.93).
Both IUP teams are back in action Saturday at The
Ohio State Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
