Sean Strauman Wins 800
Meters to Top IUP Performance at Bucknell Bison Opener

Sean Strauman topped
a field of 17 runners to claim first place in the 800 meters to
highlight the IUP indoor track and field team's performance at the Bison
Opener, hosted by Bucknell.
Strauman posted a
time of 1:54.49 in the 800 to lead a total of six IUP men who finished
in the top eight in their respective events. Strauman won the PSAC
title in the 800 at the conference indoor and outdoor championships as a
freshman last year.
Chris Gardner,
Lenwood House and Lamar Graham each placed in the top eight in a pair of
events. Gardner was third in the long jump (22'7 3/4") and tied
for seventh in the high jump (6'3 1/4").
House was tied for
sixth in the 60 meters (7.12) and eighth in the triple jump (41'9 1/4").
Graham was fifth in both the 200 meters (22.99) and 400 meters (51.31).
Rounding out the top
IUP men's performances were Brian Reed, who was tied for sixth in the 60
meter hurdles (8.68) and Alec Rice, who tied for eighth in the pole
vault (14'3 1/4").
On the women's side,
Lahnor Ridley was the top IUP individual, finishing in the top six in
two events. She was fifth in the triple jump (36'1 1/4") and tied
for sixth in the high jump (5'1").
Gretchen Colwell was
10th in the weight throw (47'6 1/2") and Jess Moyer placed in a tie for
11th in the pole vault (9'4 1/4").
Both IUP teams return
to action next weekend at Kent State's Golden Flash Gala.
