Sean Strauman topped a field of 17 runners to claim first place in the 800 meters to highlight the IUP indoor track and field team's performance at the Bison Opener, hosted by Bucknell.

Strauman posted a time of 1:54.49 in the 800 to lead a total of six IUP men who finished in the top eight in their respective events.  Strauman won the PSAC title in the 800 at the conference indoor and outdoor championships as a freshman last year.

House was tied for sixth in the 60 meters (7.12) and eighth in the triple jump (41'9 1/4").  Graham was fifth in both the 200 meters (22.99) and 400 meters (51.31).

Rounding out the top IUP men's performances were Brian Reed, who was tied for sixth in the 60 meter hurdles (8.68) and Alec Rice, who tied for eighth in the pole vault (14'3 1/4").

On the women's side, Lahnor Ridley was the top IUP individual, finishing in the top six in two events.  She was fifth in the triple jump (36'1 1/4") and tied for sixth in the high jump (5'1").

Gretchen Colwell was 10th in the weight throw (47'6 1/2") and Jess Moyer placed in a tie for 11th in the pole vault (9'4 1/4").

Both IUP teams return to action next weekend at Kent State's Golden Flash Gala.
