Lahnor Ridley Picks Up
PSAC Athlete of the Week Award
IUP senior Lahnor
Ridley has been selected as the recipient of the PSAC Field Athlete of
the Week award after a stellar performance at the Slippery Rock Open on
Saturday.
Ridley,
from Harleysville and a graduate of Souderton High School, won the
triple jump and was second in both the high jump and long jump to
highlight the IUP women's team showing.
She moved into first
place in the PSAC in the long jump with a best mark of 17 feet, 1 1/2
inches and the triple jump with an effort of 36 feet, 2 1/2 inches.
Ridley is seventh in the conference in the high jump at 5 feet, 2
inches.
A year ago, Ridley
earned four all-conference spots. At the PSAC indoor meet, she was
second in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump. She then
placed second in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump at the
outdoor championships.
Ridley qualified for
the NCAA Division II national indoor meet in the triple jump last winter
and finished in 14th place.
Ridley will join both
IUP teams in action this week at the Ohio State Invitational.
