Sean Strauman Turns in Top Qualifying Time in 800 Meters at NCAA Indoor Meet

IUP sophomore Sean Strauman won his heat and posted the best qualifying time of the 13 entrants in the 800 meters at the NCAA Division II indoor track and field meet in Boston.

Strauman had a time of 1:52.47, just off his school record 1:51.97 set earlier this season.  A two-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference indoor champion in the event, Strauman will look to win the national championship in the finals on Saturday.

Senior Jermaine Clayton was the only other IUP athlete to qualify for nationals.  He finished 14th in the long jump on Friday with a best effort of 21'9".
