Abbey Doran, Carlee Myers,
Kate Rowe and Jen Price all won a pair of individual events to lead the IUP
women to a 194-58 win over Fairmont State in a dual meet Saturday at the
Memorial Field House pool.
The IUP men were edged by
Fairmont State by a score of 141-127.
Doran won the 50 freestyle
(24.62) and 100 freestyle (55.65), Myers captured the 100 butterfly
(1:00.91) and 200 butterfly (2:12.97), Rowe touched first in the 200
freestyle (2:00.87) and 200 breaststroke (2:33.23) and Price was victorious
in the 500 freestyle (5:21.14) and 1000 freestyle (10:59.74).
Other event winners for the
IUP women were Vanessa Iacobucci in the 100 backstroke (1:04.07), Natasha
Iacobucci in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.28) and Casey Beck in the 200
backstroke (2:17.36).
The team of Doran, Myers,
Beck and Natasha Iacobucci also won the 200 medley relay with a time of
1:20.00.
On the men's side, Pawel
Glowiak was a double event winner, taking first in the 50 freestyle (21.99)
and 100 backstroke (51.38). Brenden Hiscock won the 200 freestyle
(1:55.51) and James Reed was the winner in the 200 individual medley
(2:04.04).
IUP also won the 400
freestyle relay, with the squad of Hiscock, Nick Longenbach, Martin
Zackowski and Troy Greathouse posting a time of 3:29.85.
IUP is back in action on
Friday at Lock Haven with a meet against the Lock Haven women and Bloomsburg
men. The Crimson Hawks host Shippensburg on Saturday at 1 p.m.
