The IUP women posted a
120-58 win over Lock Haven while the men suffered a narrow 105-100 loss to
Bloomsburg in a dual meet Friday at Lock Haven.
Eight different women took
first place in individual events, led by Abbey Doran in the 50 freestyle
(24.30) and Carlee Myers in the 200 butterfly (2:11.03), who both had NCAA B
cut times.
Jen Price was a double
event winner, capturing the 200 freestyle (1:59.13) and the 500 freestyle
(5:18.12).
Also touching first were
Heidi Mitskavich in the 1000 freestyle (11:06.65), Brittany Watkins in the
400 individual medley (4:51.79), Galit Regev in the 100 freestyle (55.79),
Casey Beck in the 200 backstroke (2:18.75) and Kate Rowe in the 200
breaststroke (2:30.70).
The 200 medley relay team
of Doran, Watkins, Beck and Tara Pitts won in 1:55.48 as did the 200
freestyle relay team of Doran, Rowe, Myers and Melissa Kucharczuk (1:40.92).
Lock Haven pool records
were set by Doran in the 50 freestyle, Price in the 500 freestyle and the
200 freestyle relay team.
On the men's side, Pawel
Glowiak and James Reed both won a pair of events. Glowiak took the 50
freestyle (22.11) and 200 backstroke (2:05.22) while finishing second in the
500 freestyle (5:07.28).
Reed won the 200 butterfly
(2:03.00) and the 400 individual medley (4:24.88). Baron Leonard was
the third IUP winner, taking the 200 breaststroke (2:21.35).
IUP also won the 200 medley
relay, with the squad of Reed, Leonard, Chris Crooks and Nick Longenbach
recording a time of 1:43.23.
IUP returns to action on
Saturday with a dual meet at home against Shippensburg beginning at 1 p.m.
