Carlee Myers, Abbey Doran
and Pawel Glowiak each won two events to lead the IUP swim team performance
in a double dual meet against Ashland and Edinboro.
The IUP women split the
meet, defeating Edinboro, 77-45, and losing to Ashland, 63-59. The IUP lost
to Ashland, 79-42, and Edinboro, 78-44.
Myers won the 100 fly
(59.73) and 200 fly (2:13.19). Doran, a graduate of Indiana High School,
touched first in the 50 free (24.80) and 100 free (55.14). On the men’s
side, Glowiak took first in the 100 back (51.89) and 200 back (1:57.29).
James Reed also won an
individual event for IUP, capturing the 200 IM (2:03.90) while also
finishing second in the 100 fly (55.12) and 200 fly (2:01.61).
Kate Rowe was second in
three events, finishing as the runner-up in the 100 breast (1:09.00), 200
breast (2:29.90) and 200 free (1:59.31).
Also finishing second in
two events for the women were Heidi Mitskavich in the 500 free (5:27.56) and
1000 free (11:04.20) and Casey Beck in the 100 back (1:03.23) and 200 back
(2:16.30).
The IUP women also won the
200 free relay, with the team of Doran, Myers, Brittany Watkins and Galit
Regev posting a time of 1:40.72.
IUP will host a benefit
swim event for the Salvation Army at the Memorial Field House pool next

action will be the IUP Invitational, also at Memorial Field House, November
17-19.
