Complete Results

Luci Plaxton and Pawel Glowiak both finished in the top eight in the 100 backstroke to earn All-America honors in the event on the third day of the NCAA Division II swimming championships in Indianapolis.

Plaxton was seventh with a time of 57.87 after breaking her own school record earlier in the day by posting a 57.38 in the prelims.  Glowiak also lowered his school mark, finishing eighth with a time of 50.72.

Plaxton is a 10-time All-American during her college career after also finishing sixth in the 50 freestyle on Wednesday.  She has been an All-American in the 100 backstroke three times, including a runner-up finish in 2004.

Both swimmers still have one more event remaining on Saturday.  Plaxton will compete in the 100 freestyle while Glowiak swims in the 200 backstroke.

Plaxton's two high finishes gives IUP a total of 25 points, good for 22nd in the women's team standings.  Glowiak earned 11 points and has IUP in 25th place in the men's standings.
