Luci Plaxton posted a time of 52.10 in the 100
freestyle to take first place and earn an NCAA "A" cut while three IUP
men made "B" cuts in the final day of the Davidson Invitational.
Marek Malopoloski won the 200 breaststroke
(2:07.00), Bartosz Ostrowski touched first in the 100 freestyle (46.10)
and Pawel Glowiak took the top spot in the 200 backstroke (1:54.01).
IUP also won a pair of relays. The women's
400 freestyle relay team of Plaxton, Carlee Myers, Melissa Kucharczuk
and Galit Regev had a time of 3:33.83, missing an "A" cut by just
two-tenths of a second.
The men's 400 freestyle relay squad of Ostrowski,
Glowiak, Alex Anderson and Danny Darvalics won in 3:10.86.
Each of IUP's event wins also established new meet
records.
Both IUP teams finished in third place. The
women trailed only the College of Charleston and Davidson while the men
placed behind Davidson and Washington & Lee.
IUP will be back in action December 2-4 when it
hosts its own invitational at Memorial Field House.
