Bartosz Ostrowski earned an NCAA "A" cut in the 200
freestyle and set one of four meet records by IUP swimmers in second day
action at the Davidson Invitational.
Ostrowski had a time of 1:41.01 to win the 200
freestyle and was also part of a 200 medley relay team that set a meet
and school record with a time of 1:35.91. He was joined by Pawel
Glowiak, Marek Malopolski and Alex Anderson on that unit.
Glowiak and Malopolski also posted NCAA "B" cut
times, with Glowiak achieving the standard in the 100 backstroke (51.18)
and Malopolski doing so in the 100 breaststroke (57.90). Both of
those times were meet records.
Malopoloski also won the 400 IM with a time of
4:11.02.
Luci Plaxton provided the highlight of the day for
the IUP women's team, winning the 100 backstroke and earning a "B" cut
time with a mark of 59.47.
In the team standings, the IUP men are second
behind only host Davidson while the women are third, trailing the
College of Charleston and Davidson.
