For the second time
in as many days, IUP swimmers Marek Malopolski and Luci Plaxton won
individual events at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference meet.
Malopolski was the
winner in the 100 breast, breaking his own school record while also
setting new conference and meet marks with a time of 56.65. The
previous PSAC records had stood since 1992. Malopolski also won the 200
individual medley on Thursday.
After winning the 50
free the night before, Plaxton took first in the 100 back on Friday,
touching in a time of 57.87. That time was good for an NCAA A cut.
Bartosz Ostrowski

a school record in capturing the 200 free. His mark of 1:40.98 broke
the IUP record held by Ben Oshri since 2002.
Both IUP teams
continue to hold down third place. The men have 190 points, trailing
West Chester (489) and Clarion (315). The Golden Rams also lead on the
women’s side with 748 points, ahead of Clarion (612) and IUP (370).
The four-day meet
concludes on Saturday.
