Boxscore

Sarah Romasco (pictured) scored two goals and added two assists to help IUP bounce back from its loss at Slippery Rock with a resounding 5-0 win over Mansfield in a PSAC crossover game on Saturday at the South Campus Field.

The Crimson Hawks improved to 5-3 and Mansfield fell to 2-5-1 in the first meeting between the two teams since 2004.

Melissa Kornock had a goal and assist while Jena Chatlos and Ashley Moyer also scored for IUP.  Kelsey Hernjak and Melissa Leszek contributed assists.

The Crimson Hawks outshot the Mounties by a 28-10 margin, and Mansfield goalie Justine Segear made 11 saves.  Kelsey Dowling had her first career solo shutout, stopping seven shots.

Kornock scored her fourth goal of the season off an assist by Romasco with 13:37 expired in the first half, and the two traded roles less than a minute later, giving IUP a 2-0 lead it took into halftime.

Chatlos scored for the first time this season, assisted by Romasco with 13:54 left in the game to make it 3-0.  Romasco found the net for her team-leading sixth goal of the year just under two minutes later, and Ashley Moyer added her third goal with 6:43 remaining.

IUP hits the road for a pair of tough games this week.  The Crimson Hawks are at Edinboro on Wednesday and will be looking to avenge a 2-1 loss to the Fighting Scots on August 29.

IUP then plays at West Chester on Saturday.  The Golden Rams are the defending Northeast Region champions and defeated the Crimson Hawks in both the PSAC and region championship games a year ago.
