West Chester defeated IUP, 3-1, Tuesday in a PSAC crossover women’s soccer game at South Campus Field.

IUP (3-2) and West Chester (2-0) played to a scoreless first half, but the Golden Rams’ Brittany Yetter netted what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 53rd minute.

West Chester is ranked seventh in National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.

But the Golden Rams put the game away less than a minute later as Karcher scored after taking a pass from Lauren Ginnona.

IUP goalie Becky Dillard returned to the lineup after sitting out the past two games and played all 90 minutes, making seven saves.

West Chester goalie Brittany Barnes made three saves while not giving up a goal in the first half.  Hilary Smart played the second half and made four saves.

IUP plays host to Edinboro Saturday at 2 p.m. in a PSAC West game at the South Campus Field.
