IUP Drops Double
Overtime Game at Slippery Rock in PSAC West Opener
IUP lost for the first time this season, dropping a
2-1 double overtime decision on the road against sixth-ranked Slippery
Rock.
The Indians are now 4-1 on the season and 0-1 in
PSAC play while Slippery Rock is 5-0 and 1-0.
Crystal Heder gave IUP a 1-0 lead with 1:59 left in
the first half, and the Indians stayed in front until Sarah Arsenault
tied it 27:25 into the second stanza.
The game remained even until Arsenault scored her
second goal of the game in the second extra session. Julie Kirwan
assisted on both goals.
Slippery Rock held a 20-11 advantage in shots, with
Sarah Daw making six saves in goal for the Indians.
IUP stays on the road for a PSAC West contest
Tuesday at California.
