IUP Blanks Edinboro in
PSAC West Contest
Erin Falce and Crystal Heder scored first half
goals, and Becky Dillard made it stand up, giving IUP a 2-0 victory over
Edinboro in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West contest on
Wednesday .
IUP is now 12-2 overall and 4-2 in the PSAC West
while Edinboro is 4-5-2 and 2-3 in the division.
Falce broke a scoreless game and extended her
school record for goals in a season to 23 when she connected off an
assist by Shana Speese with 8:30 remaining in the opening half.
Heder scored for the 13th time this year
with just 57 seconds left before intermission, with the assist credited
to Cora Roeder.
Dillard, a freshman making her first start of the
season, went the distance and made 10 saves. Abbey Mortus and Trish
Chilcott split time in the net for the Fighting Scots and combined for
nine saves.
IUP is back in action on Tuesday with a home game
against PSAC West leading Slippery Rock. The Indians will be looking to
avenge a 2-1 double overtime loss to The Rock on Sept. 11.
