Falce Nets Game Winner in 3-2 Overtime Win over Bloomsburg

Erin Falce scored two goals, including the winning tally just 1:38 into overtime, to give IUP a 3-2 victory over Bloomsburg and enable the Indians to set a new school record with their seventh straight victory.

IUP is now 11-1 on the season while Bloomsburg fell to 4-5.

Falce gave IUP a 1-0 lead at the 31 minute mark of the first half but the Huskies tied it up nine minutes later on a goal by Michelle Carmosky.

With two minutes remaining before halftime, Bloomsburg took a 2-1 lead when Christina Mazurek found the back of the net, but Crystal Heder tied it 45 seconds later.

The second half saw no scoring before Falce tallied the game winner off an assist by Heder.  Meghan Jones and Cora Roeder also had assists in the contest for the Indians.

The two goals by Falce extended her IUP single season record to 22 and gave her 36 in her career, just six shy of Amy Peterson's mark.

Becky Ritter and Erin Snyder had assists for the Huskies.

Sarah Daw went the distance in goal for IUP and made 12 saves.  Bloomsburg netminder Brittany Moses was credited with seven saves.

IUP returns to action Sunday with a PSAC contest at Lock Haven beginning at 2:00.
