Lead Following Second Round of NCAA East Regional Tournament

IUP continues to hold the lead following the second
round of the NCAA Division II East Region tournament at the Pine Barrens
Golf Club.
IUP saw its four-stroke lead after the first round
reduced to just one shot by second place Clarion. The Indians have a
two-day score of 610 to top the eight-team field.
Following the two leaders are Charleston (614),
West Liberty State (622), Concord (624), Shepherd (625), Ohio Valley
(626) and Fairmont State (638).
The winner of the tournament, which concludes with
the third round on Wednesday, will advance to the NCAA national
championships May 17-20 in Savannah, Ga. IUP has not qualified for
nationals since 1999.
As he was after the first round, IUP freshman
Graham Hill remains in second place in the individual standings. Hill
shot a one-under par score of 71 on Tuesday, the second best round of
the day, but still trails Matthew Hicks of West Liberty State.
Hicks carded a 69 for the second round and is at
142, three shots ahead of Hill.
Brian Galica is tied for seventh (151), Thomas
Facciani is tied for 17th (155), Dan Thompson is tied for 26th
(159) and Eric Anderson is 45th (176).
