The IUP golf team finished eighth out of 13
teams at the Hal Hansen Invitational that concluded on Monday at the Clarion
Oaks Golf Club.
IUP had a two-day team score of 610 on the par
72 course. Clarion won the team title at 584, followed by Concord (585),
Ohio Valley (592), Mercyhurst (599), Shepherd (602), Millersville (604),
West Liberty State (609) and IUP.
Nic Milito was the top IUP finisher, firing a
pair of 74s to tie for 12th at four-over par 148. Gavin Smith
was tied for 21st (151), Cory Stelick tied for 47th
(157) and Cody Kersey and Ryan Kennedy tied for 50th (158). Joe
Pelland competed as an individual and shot a 161.
Clarion’s Justin Scott won a four-way playoff
for medalist honors. Scott finished the 36 holes tied with teammate Justin
Moose and Concord’s Darcy Donaldson and Jesse Hiddleston. Scott won on the
second playoff hole.
IUP returns to action on Sunday and Monday at
the Allegheny Invitational.
