Cory Stelick Earns
All-Region Honors at NCAA East Region Golf Tournament

IUP freshman Cory Stelick tied for ninth place to
earn a spot on the all-region team at the NCAA Division II East Region
golf tournament at the Speidel Jones Golf Course in Wheeling, W.Va.
Stelick had a three-day score of 230 on the par
71 course. His tournament included rounds of 77, 75 and 78. Also
competing for IUP were Dan Vollmer (237, tied for 22nd),
Aaron Williams (239, tied for 27th), Cody Kersey (249, 41st)
and Michael Schmidt (252, 45th).
IUP finished in seventh place in the team
standings with a score of 946. Concord won the team title and advanced
to nationals, firing a 914, six strokes ahead of Clarion. Rounding out
the top five were Charleston (921), Fairmont State (928) and Ohio Valley
(930).
Matt Horn of Concord was the medalist, posting a
tally of three-over par 216 to finish three shots ahead of Michael Todd
of Charleston. Todd qualified for the national tournament as an
individual.
