Cory Stelick Earns All-Region Honors at NCAA East Region Golf Tournament

IUP freshman Cory Stelick tied for ninth place to earn a spot on the all-region team at the NCAA Division II East Region golf tournament at the Speidel Jones Golf Course in Wheeling, W.Va.

Stelick had a three-day score of 230 on the par 71 course.  His tournament included rounds of 77, 75 and 78.  Also competing for IUP were Dan Vollmer (237, tied for 22^nd), Aaron Williams (239, tied for 27^th), Cody Kersey (249, 41^st) and Michael Schmidt (252, 45^th).

IUP finished in seventh place in the team standings with a score of 946.  Concord won the team title and advanced to nationals, firing a 914, six strokes ahead of Clarion.  Rounding out the top five were Charleston (921), Fairmont State (928) and Ohio Valley (930).

Matt Horn of Concord was the medalist, posting a tally of three-over par 216 to finish three shots ahead of Michael Todd of Charleston.  Todd qualified for the national tournament as an individual.
