Joey Reed and Thomas Facciani both placed in
the top 10 to help lead the IUP golf team to a second place finish at the
Griffin Motors Invitational.
IUP had a team score of 601, trailing only
host Allegheny, which shot a 586. Allegheny and IUP were followed by St.
Vincent (608), Carnegie Mellon (614) and Westminster (649).
Reed had a two-day score of five-over par 149
to finish in fifth place. Facciani shot a 151 and was in seventh place.
Other IUP competitors were Michael Schmidt (154, tied for 14th),
Joe Pelland (156, tied for 19th) and Ryan Kennedy (160, tied for
27th).
Allegheny's Mike Wolfe (142) and Chris Moore
(143) were the top two individuals.
IUP will compete next at the California Vulcan
Invitational Oct. 6-7 in Belle Vernon.
