Shippensburg Edges IUP

Lindsey Knupp and Ashley Watt scored goals to lead Shippensburg to
a 2-0 victory over IUP in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
contest Sunday at George P. Miller Stadium.

Jamie Parell starred in goal for IUP (0-3, 0-2 PSAC), stopping 17
of the 19 shots she faced.  Shippensburg goalie Nora Luchansky was
forced to make only two saves on the day.

Knupp gave the Lady Raiders a quick 1-0 lead when she took a pass
from Gina Coombs and beat Parell just two minutes into the contest.
The game remained 1-0 until there was just 3:52 remaining when Watt
scored an unassisted goal.

Shippensburg remained undefeated on the young season at 3-0 and was
playing its PSAC opener.
