IUP senior wide receiver
Anthony Cellitti has been named a recipient of the PSAC Top 10 award, an
honor that combines academic and athletic excellence. This is the second
straight year that Cellitti has been recognized by the conference sports
information directors for this prestigious award.
The
Fall Top 10 is presented to five men and five women in the sports of
football, soccer, field hockey, volleyball, cross country and wrestling.
The minimum requirements are sophomore standing, a 3.25 grade point average
and a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.
The winners of the PSAC Top
10 award in the fall, winter and spring are all eligible for the Pete Nevins
Scholar-Athlete of the Year award which will be presented in June.
Cellitti (Apollo/Kiski
Area) has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA through the first seven semesters of
his college career as a health and physical education major. In addition to
twice being named a PSAC Top 10 winner, he is a three-time PSAC
Scholar-Athlete and was selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic
All-District II first team after both his junior and senior seasons.
This past season, Cellitti
had 42 receptions for 505 yards, an average of 12.0 yards per catch, and
scored three touchdowns. He had a career-high eight catches against
Millersville and also had seven receptions against Slippery Rock and in the
Northeast Region semifinal game against Shepherd. Cellitti made two
touchdown grabs against Lock Haven.

making him the 12th player in school history to reach that
total. He also finished his career ranked 16th in receiving
yards with 1,267 and had nine scoring catches. His 28-yard touchdown with
50 seconds left against California in 2006 gave IUP a share of the PSAC West
title.
Cellitti was named a first
team All-PSAC West performer as a sophomore in 2005 when he had 31 catches
for 444 yards and four touchdowns and also ranked 11th in the conference
with an average of 8.7 yards per punt return.
