Men 26th at Penn State National Invitational

Men's Results
The IUP women finished 19th out of 34 teams while
the men were 26th of 37 teams at the Penn State National Invitational at
State College on Saturday.
The women beat out eight Division I teams,
including Duquesne, St. Francis, Connecticut, Pitt, Texas A&M, St.
Joseph's, Mount St. Mary's and George Mason. IUP also edged out
PSAC rival Bloomsburg.
Mindy Sawtelle was the top IUP woman, finishing
35th with a time of 22:01 in the 6K race. She was followed by
Nicole Blaesser (57th, 22:27), Erica Hoffman (104th, 23:10), Katie
Farnsworth (148th, 23:44), Stacie Stockard (149th, 23:45), Charlene
Wirfel (154th, 23:49) and Marissa Umbel (205th, 24:58).
Jorge Medina was the leading IUP men's runner,
taking 46th with a time of 26:20 at the 8K distance. The top seven
also included Matt Gaudet (128th, 27:06), Eric Kruttschnitt (168th,
27:34), Nick Hornick (181st, 27:44), Nate Shelly (194th, 27:56), Bryan
Bellinger (205th, 28:05) and Jerome Myers (223rd, 28:34).
IUP is back in action in two weeks at the PSAC
Championships at Slippery Rock.
