Seniors Nicole Blaesser
and Jorge Medina both finished in the top four to lead five IUP runners to
earn all-conference honors at the PSAC Cross Country championships on
Saturday at Bloomsburg.
Blaesser placed second in
the women's race while Medina was fourth in the men's meet. Also
earning All-PSAC spots were Maureen Newell (19th) on the women's side and
Eric Kruttschnitt (18th) and Nate Shelly (19th) for the men.
The IUP women finished in
fifth place with 147 points. Edinboro won its ninth straight
conference title with 61 points, followed by Kutztown (68), Slippery Rock
(88), Bloomsburg (125) and IUP.
The IUP men were seventh
with 155 points, five behind sixth place East Stroudsburg. Lock Haven
won for the fourth straight year, totaling 45 points. The Bald Eagles
outdistanced Edinboro (100), Clarion (107), Shippensburg (123), Bloomsburg
(138), East Stroudsburg and IUP.

22:31 on the 6K course that was sloppy from a 12-hour rain during the night
that also fell during the earlier men's race. She finished 11 seconds
behind Edinboro's Rachel Lanzel, who was the conference runner-up last year.

meter course in 26:04 to trail Ryan Blood of Lock Haven (25:44), Jeff Weiss
of Slippery Rock (25:56) and Chris Clark of Clarion (25:58). Weiss won
the title last year and Blood was also the champion in 2004.
