IUP junior Dan Snyder has
been named the PSAC West Pitcher of the Week after leading the Crimson Hawks
to a 3-2 win over Seton Hill on Saturday.
Snyder,
who played at Indiana High School, took a three-hit shutout into the eighth
inning before needing relief help. He finished the game surrendering five
hits and two runs, struck out 10 and did not walk a batter.
Snyder improved his record
to 3-0 on the season. The righthander has allowed only 13 hits and six runs
in 23 innings of work, walking just two batters and striking out 22.
He has also picked up a 4-2
win over Columbia Union and had a complete game, three-hitter with eight
strikeouts in a 10-2 victory over Newport News Apprentice.
Snyder is tied for the PSAC
lead in wins and ranks 14th in the conference with an ERA of
2.35. Opponents are batting just .159 against him.
