IUP Baseball Team
Continues Community Service Involvement
The IUP baseball team has been
involved with six community projects this fall, most recently being the
Indi-Kids Day of Play in IUP’s Zink Hall on Saturday, November 10. This
event was sponsored by the Indi-Kids and the Children’s Commission of
Indiana County. The day was free for all children up to age 12 to
participate in activities, games, and fun.

On Election Day, the team helped
with the United Way’s Pancake and Sausage Day at Café 701. The United
Way has twice honored the baseball team with both a Certificate of
Appreciation and a Shining Star award during the past two years.

As part of the First Commonwealth’s
sponsored Wounded Warrior Program, members of the baseball team handed
out United States flag pins at the IUP football game on November 3 vs.
Shippensburg. Also this fall, the team helped the IUP Co-op Store hand
out promotional items at the IUP football game vs. California.

Several members of the team
assisted with the Walk for Diabetes at Blue Spruce Park and the United
Way Pancake and Sausage Day at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
