Snyder is currently a junior at IUP
studying safety science. As part of his major, he is a professional
student member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). The
local chapter provides opportunities to attend career workshops and
professional development. He also helps the local chapter with their
blood drive.
Dan is also the recipient of the
National Science & Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (National
Smart Grant) and maintains a 3.45 grade point average. He has been
chosen to intern with Connoco Phillips in Anchorage, Alaska for the
summer of 2007.
As a member of the IUP baseball
team, Dan was recently voted a team captain and is also a captain for
the team's "WINwithCLASS" academic program. He is a member of the
2006-07 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee directed by Associate
Director of Athletics Fran Nee.
He is an active volunteer in the
IUP baseball youth camps, United Way, America's Walk for Diabetes and
the First Commonwealth Christmas/Jimmy Stewart Parade. He was
recognized by the PSAC as a Scholar-Athlete for the 2005-06 season.
Duda is currently a senior at IUP
studying to be an athletic trainer. He spends a great deal of time
working with his assigned athletic teams at IUP and also doing athletic
training coverage at the Indiana High School.
Student athletic trainers are
required to perform a great deal of hands-on training and serve an
important role for the entire athletic department as they are assigned
to each certified athletic trainer and clinical instructor at both IUP
and IHS. Matt is also a volunteer firefighter for the Cranesville Fire
Department / First Aid & CPR and rescue unit.
As a member of the IUP baseball
team, Matt is a three-year letterwinner. He is an active volunteer in
the IUP baseball youth camps, United Way and America's Walk for
Diabetes. At this time, he is considering a redshirt this year so he
can continue to serve as a student athletic trainer and still play
baseball his fifth year at IUP (2007-08).
The Office of Student Conduct,
directed by Kate Linder, supports the academic mission of the university
by promoting the development of a campus community characterized by
reasonable safety and security, responsible behavior, civility and
respect.
Through enforcement of university
policies and regulations, the office challenges students to take
responsibility for their actions, demonstrate respect for themselves,
property, other individuals and develop skills that will enhance
lifelong problem solving, communication and decision-making abilities.
