IUP freshman shortstop Paul
Bingham has been named the first PSAC West Player of the Week for the 2007
season.
Bingham
leads the PSAC with an average of .529, banging out 18 hits in 34 at bats.
In 12 games, including 10 starts, he has a double, two triples, scored eight
runs and driven in five. He has stolen two bases and committed only one
error in 43 chances.
Bingham is currently riding
a seven-game hitting streak during which he has 17 hits in 25 at bats for a
.680 average. Included in that streak are four three-hit games and two
other contests with two hits.
He had 11 hits in 15 at
bats with two triples, six runs scored and three RBI in a four-game series
against Newport News Apprentice last weekend.
IUP went 4-10 during its
southern trip and plays doubleheaders on the road each of the next three
days. The Crimson Hawks are at Mercyhurst on Thursday and Seton Hill on
Friday and Saturday.

Hill on Friday was originally scheduled to be played at IUP but was moved to
Greensburg due to field conditions.
