SCHEDULING HELP:

WHAT, WHO, WHERE, AND WHEN

User ID number: This number is your permanent student identification number. It appears on your "Time Appointment Letter" and above your picture on your I-card.

Personal Identification Number (PIN) : The Personal Identification Number is used for the URSA system. Once a student uses the URSA system, the PIN remains the same semester after semester. If a student forgets his/her PIN, the student (undergraduate AND graduate) needs to contact the Scheduling Center, located in Clark Hall or at (724) 357-2217, to have the PIN reset. Students must present a photo ID for proof of identification. The Scheduling Center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m (4:00 p.m. in summer).

Time Appointment Letter (TAL) & Alternate PIN Number: Undergraduate students must pick these up from their academic advisers. If your Alternate PIN (the four digit code on your TAL) number needs to be reset, go to the department of your major. Graduate students will have their time appointment letters and Alternate PIN numbers distributed to them through their advisers.

Making Schedule Adjustments: All students may make schedule adjustments from their initial time appointment until the end of the official Drop/Add period, using URSA. If any exceptional circumstances exist beyond the end of the drop/add period, undergraduate students must consult the dean of the college of the student's major; graduate students must consult the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School.

Obtaining Permission to Enroll in Closed, Restricted, or Time Conflict Courses: Undergraduates must consult the department offering the course, graduate students must consult the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School. Once a permit is issued, THE STUDENT MUST STILL REGISTER FOR THE COURSE ON URSA.

Permission to Take Excess Credits: Students need to consult the dean of the of the college of their major to have the maximum number of credits raised for a semester.

Individual Course Withdrawal: Students wanting to do individual course withdrawals do so via URSA before two-thirds of the semester has passed. If any exceptional circumstances exist beyond the deadline date, students must consult the dean of the college of their major; graduate students must consult the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School.

Total University Withdrawal: Undergraduates may withdraw from all their courses in a semester via URSA prior to the individual course withdrawal deadline. After the deadline, but prior to the total university withdrawal deadline, undergraduates must go through the Advising and Testing office (Pratt Hall). Graduate students must consult the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School.

D/F Repeats: D/F repeat forms must be obtained at the student's academic department. Completed forms must be submitted to the Scheduling Center by the deadline published in the schedule of classes booklet.

Pass/Fail Permission : Pass/Fail permission forms must be obtained at the student's academic department. Completed forms must be submitted to the Scheduling Center by the deadline published in the schedule of classes booklet.
