(1) Students entering secondary social studies education must present the following in order to gain admission:
  1. A 2.75 GPA with grades of C or better in history and social science courses required for certification.
  2. A letter of admission to teacher certification from the College of Education; Acts 34 and 151 must be current at all times.
(2) Eligibility for student teaching and certification in secondary social studies education (history concentration) requires a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and a grade of C or better in history courses and in the required social science distribution courses.
(3) For students who have taken HI195, HI210, HI212, or HI214 prior to becoming History majors, this course may not be appropriate. Consult History adviser before scheduling.
(4) SO231 required only if SO237 or SO362 are not taken as Liberal Studies electives.
