of Study
The program in Philosophy is designed to provide the
student with a capacity for thinking clearly, a critical
attitude and the ability to reason theoretically.
The major offers the background required for graduate
work in philosophy. Those whose primary interests are in
other disciplines will find philosophy courses which
relate directly to their fields on a theoretical level.
Both the minor and double major are especially desirable
for their reflective benefits and because of the
essentially interdisciplinary nature of philosophy.
