The Indiana Initiative

Through the development of the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex, Indiana will finally have the critical resource necessary to attract larger sport and entertainment events. The entire community will enjoy the related tourism dollars, in addition to having access to a high-tech conferencing center. And, our growing university will have a first-rate facility. Indiana will also gain an inviting streetscape along its Wayne Avenue entrance through the relocation of the industrial inventory that currently occupies the site for the KCAC. The Indiana Initiative is a capital campaign to raise $20 million in private funding as a match to $20 million in state funds to build the complex.

Many people have already pledged their support to build the complex (link).

To date, more than $10 million has been raised: $6.6 million in private support for the project, and $3 million in federal funding has been allocated through the efforts of Congressman John P. Murtha.
