A foundation for future growth. Something for us all...

While owned and managed by IUP, the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex will serve as a resource for the entire regional community. It will be situated on land owned by the Commonwealth along Wayne Avenue, adjacent to the university, between the Thirteenth Street Extension and Hospital Road. It will include an arena, offices for IUP’s John P. Murtha Institute for Homeland Security, athletic department offices, an auditorium, and state-of-the-art conference and convention space. Groundbreaking will take place in 2008, and occupancy is planned for 2011.

Clearing of the site is well underway and on schedule. To take a look at this progress, visit a brief slide show of aerial photographs of the area.

A community-University blue ribbon committee has been established to investigate the planned addition of a connecting hotel to the KCAC. Read about this in the Indiana Gazette, or on-line in our IUP News and More site.

The complex is expected to revitalize and energize the region's economic climate. Visit our Media Center to see the floor plans for this exciting new complex.
