    Financial Assistance

Prospective international students are reviewed for financial assistance (partial tuition waiver - PTW) after being accepted to Indiana University of Pennsylvania. There is no additional application form. If students are awarded the PTW, the amount of funding will be reflected on the immigration documents (I-20 or DS-2019) and an official PTW letter will be included in student acceptance packages.

For 2006-2007, new international students awarded a PTW will receive the following amount of money per academic semester (Fall and Spring):

    • Undergraduate - $2000
    • Second Degree - $1500
    • Graduate - $1000

To maintain a PTW, students must complete 30 hours of unpaid, volunteer service. Students receive 10 service hours by actively participating in major Fall and Spring events; International Education Week and Unity Day. Details of these events and the participation requirements will be provided in the One World newsletter.

Service hours must be officially reported by supervisors via email or a letter to the OIA. To guarantee that students will continue to receive the PTW, service hours must be reported by the following deadlines:

    • Fall Hours - First Friday of December
    • Spring Hours - First Friday of May
    • Summer Hours - Second Friday of August
