This Honors Track is open to French majors with at least a 3.25 GPA in total university coursework and a 3.25 GPA in French courses.

Prerequisites:

• Declared major in French
  
• Completion of at least 57 credits
  
• Permission of Department Honors Committee

Application Process:

• Students must have at least 57 credits earned.
  
• Students must submit two letters of reference from French faculty members and a two-page self-statement describing the student's academic and career goals.

Students complete:

• FRNC 483/H Honors Thesis in French
  
• One course from FRNC 301 or above
  
• CHSS 489 Honors Colloquium (a multi-disciplinary colloquium emphasizing problem-solving, discussion, reading and writing on a topic or theme)
  
• HNRC 499 Honors Senior Synthesis, which fulfills the Liberal Studies Synthesis requirement

Students must earn at least a B in each course completed for the Honors Track.
