The CHC Secret Sauce Beyond the core curriculum and the emphasis on critical thinking, there are two main points that differentiate the CHC, and allow such spectacular academic success. The first is how we teach. The second is the nature of the students we recruit to our Community of Scholars.

IUP Community of Scholars Part of the core identity of the Cook Honors College (CHC) at IUP is that all first and second year students are housed in a single dormitory, Whitmyre Hall. This assemblage of students is called the Community of Scholars.
The Achievement Fund In order to broaden the experience base of CHC students, the CHC Achievement Fund was created and funded privately for the portion not routinely funded by IUP.
