Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Ph.D. in Administration and Leadership Studies, Nonprofit and Public Sectors

Because of the success of the on-campus program, IUP was invited by the State System of Higher Education (SSHE) to offer this same program in Harrisburg at the state system’s Dixon University Center. The first Harrisburg cohort began classes in Fall 2001. This is an exciting program, drawing upon the knowledge and experience of students in the Harrisburg area who work in state agencies, in the legislature, community colleges, and in local government and nonprofit agencies. The Harrisburg program is offered every other year (admission during odd years).

The State System of Higher Education has established a Center for Policy Studies and Leadership at the Dixon Center. This Center is a collaboration among the fourteen universities within the System. The ALS Doctoral Program in Harrisburg has been planned collaboratively with the Center and supplements the Center’s activities.
