When you give to IUP – whether you’re an alumnus, parent, community friend, foundation, or corporate partner, or student – you play a vital role in the life of the university. Why?
  • Private support makes the difference between a good education and a great education by making available opportunities beyond what the basic budget can provide. Thanks to the generosity of those who value learning and knowledge, IUP has provided generations of students with the quality education that enables them to achieve their dreams and contribute meaningfully to their communities and society.
  • While the state of Pennsylvania’s appropriations are critical to IUP’s operations, they cover less than 40 percent of the university’s budget.
  • In recent years, state appropriations have not kept pace with inflation or other cost increases, such as salaries, lab equipment, or utilities.
  • IUP’s tradition of accessibility and excellence is rare – and costly. Currently, more than 80 percent of the university’s students receive some form of financial aid, including scholarships.

That’s why, every year, the Foundation for IUP seeks the support of our alumni and friends through the Annual Fund, and it’s why thousands of supporters make IUP their philanthropic priority. A donation to IUP is a gift that touches students’ lives long after they’ve graduated, and it’s a gift to the region we live and work in. Interested? There are many ways to give.
