Technology is no longer just for those students who are entering technical fields. All students, whether from the arts, health and physical education, social sciences, or business, will benefit from earning a degree at a university that is a leader in technological resources and education...

The life of the mind matters, and it’s our job to see that our students keep pace in all fields. For this reason, IUP asks for your support through its Leadership Giving Societies.

He knows what it means...

I have been a teacher and school administrator for more than 30 years.  Photo: Rodney RuddockAs principal of Indiana Area Senior High School, I interact daily with young men and women who struggle to understand what is happening.  I see a determination among my students as well. They will move this country forward, and they know that education is a vital ingredient for a secure future.

My wife, Ellen, and I are both proud IUP alumni, crediting our success to the solid educational foundation that this university provided us.  We want to make sure the same opportunities we had remain available to all students.  Ellen and I have made IUP a philanthropic priority for many years and are confident that our charitable gifts have been used wisely.  The university has used charitable dollars to grow in size and stature and can boast of many student and faculty accomplishments.

Just as the world changes, so must IUP.  Needs for resources in science and technology labs grow.  The library must constantly add to its collections and resources in order to provide the data and research that support academic programs.   Even though more and more students are working to offset tuition and living expenses, the need for scholarships is greater than ever.  The cost of providing experiences for internships, study abroad, special programming, and professional development is high.

Along with 96,000 other graduates of IUP, my accomplishments no doubt began with my experiences at this great institution.  As I near the end of a long and successful career,  I am grateful for the opportunity to support IUP through the Leadership Giving Societies.

Please join me in making a leadership-level gift.  Indiana University of Pennsylvania has a reputation for educating young people to become leaders.  Our students will be among the professionals who will lead our country to a strong and secure future.  Each will contribute to the freedom of the United States.  Your contribution, now, can make a difference.

Sincerely,
Rodney D. Ruddock
